Eugene Gorab is founder, President and CEO of the real estate and private equity investment firm Greenfield Partners, LLC . Over the past 15 years, Eugene Gorab has developed the company from a two-employee operation to an enterprise spanning three offices and 45 employees, and controlling in excess of $7 billion in assets. He personally supervises every aspect of the firm, from strategic planning to investor relations.
Prior to establishing his current firm, Mr. Gorab held responsibilities as Managing Director and Founding Partner of Starwood Capital Group, LLC, a leading private equity company with diverse real estate investment holdings. He served on the Board of Trustees of Starwood Financial Trust (now organized as iStar Financial, Inc.), and he also headed Starwood Capital Group’s Development and Land Groups. Eugene Gorab additionally assisted the Investment Committee in senior capacities, heading Starwood Asset Management. During his six years with the firm, he was responsible for the completion of $2 billion in investments, guiding the acquisition of significant distressed mortgage assets.
Eugene Gorab earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. As an undergraduate, he accepted a role as President of the local chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers. Mr. Gorab spent two years as a Project Engineer at Air Products and Chemicals, Inc., overseeing the development of liquid nitrogen/liquid oxygen production facilities in Ohio, California, and Canada. After obtaining an MBA at the University of Chicago, he gained initial financial experience as Acquisitions Officer with JMB Realty Corporation. Eugene Gorab is an active member of the Pension Real Estate Association, serves as a Trustee for Bucknell University, and is a Board Member of the Appalachia Service Project.
